Rich Cowley

Rich Cowley has been an Academy member since 1991 and, in that time, has “worn a lot of hats”: Video Committee chairman, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Communications Director, frequent showroom performer, occasional lecturer, and (most recently) instructor in the Academy’s Magic University. Before moving to California to join the AMA, Rich made his living as a street performer in Philadelphia for almost 15 years, becoming the second-longest-running show of its kind in the country. His ability to engage, his simplicity of approach, and his unique ‘spin’ on just about every magical effect he performs makes him one of the most admired instructors we have!

Alfonso became a member of the Magic Castle in 1983 and has performed in every one of our showrooms and bars, totaling close to 2500 performances. With years of teaching experience, we eagerly invited him to be an instructor within Magic University. He has spent nearly 20 years teaching magic at after school enrichment programs and summer camps. He’s been invited to lecture and share his magic creations and performing ideas with magicians as far as Spain, Japan, Finland, and London, as well as many lectures here in the USA. He is also sought out by other professional magicians to help fine-tune their routines. Alfonso’s loves for magic and his easy going style can help get you on the fast track to performing magic!
