Magic III - Session 5 | Late Fall 2024

Magic III is a 6-week course held each Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Students will delve deeper into the key principles of Parlour magic and to create, perform, and be evaluated on an original magic routine. Theoretical discussions will include physical misdirection, verbal misdirection and time misdirection. This class is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to perform advanced magic, giving students slightly more advanced and complex concepts and principles and effects requiring more involved techniques. It will combine instructor presentations, step-by-step explanations, hands-on instruction, group practice sessions, and individual performance.
Course Objectives:
- Practice basic handling techniques for common magic props.
- Identify, Describe and Demonstrate fundamental slights.
- Identify, Describe, and Demonstrate the key elements of misdirection.
- Identify and Describe the key principles of Parlour Magic.
- Create, Perform and Evaluate an original story line incorporating a magic effect.
All props and materials are provided.
